It`s very specially big event for great monk Krubakumbun Paphakaro`s nirvana. This monk famous he`s nickname "Luangpor Kumbun ". mean is "elder monk Kumbun". People make especial coffin, elephant head and bird body. In Thai culture elephant is very auspicious animal and the bird is phoenix. Center of space have real coffin inside there. This special stature have many moving function, Elephant head move from side to side, and nose longer and shorter. Close eyes and open again. Also the wings widen and purse. This stature, made when the monk died. And wait 1 year for many worshipers. Inside coffin have special deep-freezer keep the monk`s body. Also this stand made only for this monk. The house of coffin is very common culture for Thai`s funeral. But elephant and phoenix is people`s respect to him. People and student of him believe he get the enlightenment of nirvana like Buddha. Also some people believe, he have super power as Buddha. But, in real Buddhism means, he understand way to shanti(peaceful) life. Anyway, This beautiful stature burning at 1 year anniversary of death with one of biggest ceremony in Wat Nasang temple.
