Anti-fascist counter-protesters outnumbered a few dozen people attending PEGIDA's first London demonstration. Under a heavy police guard, the PEGIDA supporters were kept safe from scores of anti-fascism activists and anarchists, who attempted on several occasions to break through police lines in order to attack the PEGIDA rally. Minor scuffles broke out as police contained the anti-fascists.
