The decorative door to the Salzburg's Stieglkeller. The door is painted red and white, the colours of Austria. Keller means cellar in German and Stiegl is this city's most famous beer, having been brewed since 1492, the date inscribed above the door. Still operating as a beerhall today, the Steiglkeller is built into the city's defenses, forming part of the massive historic stone wall at the bottom of the Festung, or Fortress, that sits high about the city.
