Mosaic glass fragment, glass, pressed, cut, glass, Total (c): Height: 1.70 cm; Width: 3.10 cm, Floor coverings, wall decoration, Early Imperial Period, The glass fragment shows colorful (yellow, white, turquoise, red and brown) squares, which are put together to form large rectangles. In Roman times, colored, ornamented glass was used for vessels, mosaics, wall decorations and furniture ornaments. For the production different colored glass was formed into tubes and rods. These were pressed together and heated, resulting in a long rod.
