The society hasseventy-eight members. The Methodist church, located at Stowe village, was organized by LorenzoDow, about the year 1800. The church buildmg was erected in 1840, andenlarged and repaired in 1866. Rev. F. W. Lewis is the present pastor ofthe society. The Union churchy located about two and one-half miles from the centralpart of the town, on the Mansfield mountain road, was built in 1836, and isstill used by all denominations. It will seat 225 persons, and cost $1, 187.00..
