Henry of Valois (1551-1589) - king of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (1574, formally to 1575), from 1574 king of France. He was elected king of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania after the death of the last Jagiellonian Sigismund II Augustus, who left no descendants. In 1574, Henry of Valois got a chance to get the French crown and actually fled to France, where he was elected king under the name of Henry III, while he enjoyed the titles of king of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania until the end of his life. Bezkorolevye in The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth lasted until 1575, when the king of Poland was elected Staffan Batory, in 1576 crowned Grand Duke of Lithuania.
