More information:

Close up detail of one of the many spectacular carved marble screens inside the Tomb of Shaikh Salim Chisti with the customery tiny red and orange string tied to it hoping to bring good luck and fulfillment. Salim Chisti was a greatly revered saint, and the legend goes that Akbar the Mughal emperor did not have any hiers, so he prayed to Salim Chisti. Salim Chisti blessed Akbar, and he subsequently had three sons one of which he named Salim in the memory of Salim Chisti. Salim Chisti is buried in Fatehpur Sikri at the Jama Masjid.
