Arthur Hodgson , a 40 - year - old handyman at [ Heach ' s ? ] Fair , [ Kew ] Bridge , who had been shot dead . Hodgson ' s assailent , who it is belived intended to break into a caravan , ran away . A Winchester repeating rifle has been found by police . A young man later made a statement at Richmond Police Station . Photo shows : The Great Dane dogs which revealed the murder .
