The demonstration of pensioners, convened by the State Coordinator for the Defense of the Public Pension System COESPE, has begun at 11.00 and has traveled the section that separates the Puerta del Sol and the Congress of Deputies. Although the march takes place in the capital, retirees from all over the territory join it. This Tuesday, for example, two columns of walkers from Rota and Bilbao have arrived in Madrid. Pensioners have requested in Congress a document with their main claims, which can be summarized in six points: 1. Shield pensions as a fundamental right in the Spanish Constitution. 2. That by law the pensions be revalued with the real CPI. 3. That, today, the minimum pension is equal to the Minimum Interprofessional Salary (900 euros) until reaching 1, 084 euros recommended by the European Social Charter for Spain. 4. A public and quality health that eliminates co-payments. 5. Sufficient residences for the elderly that are public, accessible and of quality. 6. Repeal of the last two labor and pension reforms
