La Monumental Bullring, Barcelona, Spain, 2007. The Monumental Bullring of Barcelona, known as the 'Plaza de Toros Monumental de Barcelona' ('La Monumental' for short), was designed by Ignasi Mas and Joaquim Raspall. It was inaugurated in 1915 with the first bullfights in this place. The building is made of brick and is crowned with four blue and white ceramic egg-like forms. Its style is a mixture of Mudejar (Moorish) and Byzantine. La Monumental houses The Bullfighting Museum of Barcelona.
