The photograph shows a organic sweetcorn plant with a ripe cob. The brown tassel at the end of the cob, indicates the cob is ripe and ready for picking. This normally occurs in nlate summer and early autumn in the UK, but is dependent on area and the weather conditions. In particular sunlight levels and temperature. The finished plants make very good composting material.
