Plants: Located in front of an Indian temple, the Camphor Tree, aka Camphorwood or Camphor Laurel (Cinnamomum camphora) is a species of evergreen tree native to the Far East, but cultivated for camphor and timber production it has been introduced to many other countries including India. Camphor, in a solid, waxy form was used medicinally and was also an important ingredient in the production of smokeless gunpowder and celluloid.
