More information:

The workart "Le voci della città" (Voices of the city) is a modern sculptural work by Alberto Garutti (2012) made up of 23 intercoms built with brass oxidized aluminium trumpet tubes that develop in the ventilation cavity. It is located in Piazza Gae Aulenti at the beginning of the pedestrian walkway that descends towards Corso Garibaldi. The work develops vertically crossing the four lower levels of the building, used as a car park and shopping centre, according to the idea of relating places and spaces apparently without visual correlation. Through these intercom tubes you can talk to each other from floor to floor, which children love. Alberto Garutti was professor at Brera Academy of Milan and now is professor at Art 2 Laboratory of the Faculty of Design and Arts Iuav of Venice. The area of piazza Gae Aulenti is a new part of Milan city and consists in a pedestrian square with fountains surrounded by skyscrapers, shops, bar, restaurants and other buildings. The square was in honor of italian architect Gae Aulenti. This square with its triumph of geometries, colors, modern views and arts, water games and shops has become a meeting place. The Unicredit tower, by architect Cesar Pelli, 2011, is the tallest building in Italy with a height of 231 metres. Under the square there is the "Food distrect" with a supermarket and many restaurants and bars. Near the square is the public park "Biblioteca degli alberi" and the skyscraper "Bosco verticale", designed by archistar Stefano Boeri, regarded as one of the most beautiful skyscrapers in the world.
