London, UK. 28th March, 2018. Michael Rakowitz’s ‘The Invisible Enemy Should Not Exist’ has been unveiled on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square. A life-size reproduction of one of the large stone statues of a lamassu (a winged bull with a human face) which guarded the gates of the ancient city of Nineveh in Iraq until destroyed by ISIS, it was armoured with 10,500 tin cans used for date syrup.
