Brcntzel reports that "Iv^ny varieties show rust infection, including many that are resistant to wilt*" The following report hi^s been supplied by H. D. Barker: "Flax rust was reported July 7 f^^o^ Goodhue County, Minnesota. Following this date it was reported from several other localities in the state. For the first time in the history of the Plant Dis- ease Survey, flax rust v;as general throughout Minnesota. Usually the disease occurs quite comnpjrily in the Red River Valley, but out- side of this limited section near the border of Minnesota and North Dakota extending into tho northeast corner of South Dakota, it has not, at least since I have been v/orking on flax rust, been found to occur very abundantly.
