Magdeburg, Germany. 06th Oct, 2022. Philipp Kronenberg (l-r) as a laborer, Lorenz Krieger as a militiaman's son and Robert Lang-Vogel as a laborer rehearse a scene from the play "Gas" in the Schauspielhaus of the Theater Magdeburg. The play was written by Georg Kaiser (1878-1945) from Magdeburg. The first performance took place in 1918. It deals with the still young industrial age and the dependence on the raw material gas which progress, financial markets and armies need and which is no longer available because of a factory explosion.
