Marie Curie (1867-1934) and Pierre Curie (1859-1906) shown conducting an experiment on the cover of the Le Petit Parisien Illustrated literary supplement 10 January 1904 in honour of their joint winning of the Nobel Prize for their pioneering research on radioactivity shortly before in 1903. Marie Curie was the first woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize.
