May 05, 1972 - Dancers from National Ballet of Canada Entertained on Canadian Helicopter Destroyer, M.N.C>S> Annapolis. Officers and crew of H.M.C.S. Annapolis, today played hosts to members of the National Ballet of Canada on board the Canadian helicopter destroyer. Commander A.P. Campbell invited five girls form the ballet company to visit the ship and be give a tour of her before having coffee with the officers in the Ward Room. After the visit the girls returned to the London Coliseum for rehearsals for Wednesday's (May 17) Royal Gala opening of the National Ballet of Canada's first London season. H.M.C.S. Annapolis is visiting London during its Spring deployment tour and will be berthed alongside H.M.S. Belfast on the South side of the Upper Pool near Tower Bridge until May 17 when she sails for France. Photo shows four of the ballet girls put on a display of dancing for the benefit of some of the officers on board the flight deck at Tower Bridge today (Seen background).
