Åmår station was opened in 1879. Stationhouse was initially a two-storey brick building. In 1910 and the 1930s, O was modernized Statationshuset. The first electric train arrives at the station. SJ D 202. The locomotive was manufactured in 1933 by ASEA. Scrapped in 1979 in Vislanda.
