Our portrait may have been painted close to the time of Javier's marriage, but was certainly executed by 1815/16.Despite the signature on the ring—a favorite device of Goya's—the attribution of this portrait has recently been questioned by some authorities.. Narcisa Barañana de Goicoechea. Attributed to Goya (Francisco de Goya y Lucientes) (Spanish, Fuendetodos 1746–1828 Bordeaux). Oil on canvas. Paintings
