Old Head of Kinsale, Kinsale, Cork, Ireland. 13th May, 2019. A lifeboat Davit belonging to the ill fated liner Lusitania stands in the memorial garden in the Old Head of Kinsale Museum, Co. Cork, Ireland. The Lusitania, was steaming from New York to Liverpool on May 7, 1915, when it was sunk by a torpedo from a German U-boat 18km off the Old Head of Kinsale, with the loss of some 1,200 lives. Recently the owner of the Lusitania, US businessman Greg Bemis gifted the ship's wreck to the museum.
