Picture set of Sturtmoor pond Located within Canada Common on the edge of The New Forest National park. The pond usually full of water is now bone dry during the current hot weather and lack of rain causing a drought in the UK. The pond is an important part of the common where the free roaming animals of the New Forest come to drink and paddle. Animals that can be seen here are Donkeys, cattle, geese and new forest ponies as well as dogs calling off and if you're lucky sometimes you may be able to spot a deer. File pictures show horses, donkeys and cattle drinking as the heat wave started.
