Ponds for the almost fully grown rainbow trout at the Red River State Trout Hatchery, New Mexico. The hatchery is run by the New Mexico State Game Commission and raises and supplies fish for the Red River, Rio Grande and other streams and lakes for the northern New Mexico area. It is open to visitorsbetween 8 and 5 daily for a self guided tour. The ponds shown here contain fish almost ready for release. Visitors can buy fish food to feed the fish and watcha feeding frenzy amongst the large trout. The farm produces about 1.7 million fish a year!
