'Prince Blucher under his Horse at the Battle of Waterloo', 1815. The intervention of Field Marshal Blucher's Prussian army made a vital contribution to Wellington's victory at Waterloo. The incident depicted, where Blucher was trapped for several hours beneath his horse after it was shot and killed, actually occurred at the Battle of Ligny, two days before the larger engagement at Waterloo.
