A Foggy Day: Mosquito fogging as the fight against dengue fever continues in Jakarta, Indonesia Jakarta, Indonesia. 30th March 2015. A mosquito fogging session is held in a suburban area of West Jakarta, as fight against dengue fever continues. Jakarta’s Health Agency has warned people to stay alert of outbreak of dengue fever, which usually rises during the peak of the rainy season and the transition to the dry season despite a decline compared to the same period last year. “Fogging is not a prevention to dengue fever. This method kills only adult mosquitos, ” says Subiyono, commanding officer from a local sub-district health center. He says that fogging is conducted with malathion, an insecticide of relatively low human toxicity.
