More information:

A classic combination of London "street furniture"- the red telephone box alongside an old Metropolitan Police blue street light. The iconic red telephone box was designed in 1924 by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. His simple design was chosen after a competition was held in this year. The colour red was chosen, (against the designer's wishes) to make the easy to spot in the street. The classic Blue Police light was positioned outside most police stations for the public to know were the stations were. This combo is near The Strand.
