A Fulani woman sells handwoven straw mats at the weekly market in Djibo in northern Burkina Faso. The mats are used to sit on, as beds, and to build houses that can be disassembled and reassembled at will. The Fulani are traditionally nomadic pastoralists, crisscrossing the Sahel season after season in search of fresh water and green pastures for their cattle and other livestock.
