A human statue dressed in Statue of Liberty with tourists waiting to be photographed at the exit of Central Park plaza overlooking the Grand Army Plaza. Between 58 and 60 streets, and next to the Plaza hotel, this is a European-style plaza built in 1916 in memory of the Union Army during the Civil War. Grand Army Plaza on the street is divided into two semicircles 59 and was inspired by La Concorde in Paris. In the south is the Pulitzer Fountain, Italian-style fountain was built in 1916 by Karl Bitter in honor of the journalist Albert Pulitzer. The fountain is crowned by the bronze sculpture depicting Pomona, the Goddess of wealth. The north square is dominated by the golden statue of General William Tecumseh Sherman, conducted in 1903 by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
