A Sword for cavalry officers,Electorate of Saxony,middle of the 18th century Double-edged,etched blade with rhomboid cross section,half cartwheel and cipher "GZ" etched on both sides as a maker's mark,beneath the coat of arms of the electorate of Saxony under the electoral bonnet.Brass hilt with remnants of silver plating.Good condition according to age.Length 91 cm.The manufacturer Ziegler was supposedly a minister in Dresden.His blades were famous for their attributed qualities and very popular among the Saxon nobility which explains the high prices,Additional-Rights-Clearences-Not Available
