An officer's helmet, 1814 - 1825, Bavaria, Garde du Corps Regiment Fire-gilded brass skull and finely shaped comb with a recumbent lion. Band and brim are covered with sealskin and gilded oak leaves. Silver-plated cockade. Original bearskin chenille, leather lining. Chin straps on Medusa heads. The backing for the metal chinstrap was replaced for the centennial celebration in 1914.
