The BID [Business Improvement District is a partnership of all town centre businesses and organisations working for the improvement of business and the environment for the benefit of all. There are currently over 500 businesses contributing to Blackpool’s BID.The BID is funded in whole or in part by a levy additional to the non-domestic rates and the amount payable is a percentage of the rateable value of a property in the rating list. In August 2010, the BID successfully re-balloted its members and received approval for another 5 year period. The percentage levy throughout the lifetime of this second BID will remain at 1%.Eileen Ormand was appointed as the Town Centre and BID manager in March 2009. Her key priority being to work in partnership with Blackpool Council and all local organisations; playing a key role in the co-ordination of new and existing projects to deliver solutions that are right for Blackpool’s town centre businesses.
