Car maker MG Rover was rapped by the advertising watchdog for encouraging unsafe driving with adverts for its latest series of saloons. MG Rover came under fire from people concerned by advertisements in a national newspaper and a direct mailing for the Z series of saloons which emphasised speed. They both featured pictures of three MG cars and were accompanied either by Can your head take the rush? or Can your nerves bear the buzz? or Can your heart stand the thrill?
