RFR4NKYT–Tourists climb on top of the wreckage of a US Navy DC plane that crash landed on a beach in Southern Iceland on November 21, 1973. The place crashed as a result of either low fuel or icing on the engines and all aboard survived. After the crash the Navy stripped the plane of engines and other valuable components but left the main fuselage on the black sand beach near Solheimasandur. Today, due in large part to geotagging from Instagram, the plane is a popular destination for photographers and adventure enthusiasts visiting Iceland.
