(dpa) - German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder comments on the new bomb attempts in the Afghan capital Kabul on the sidelines of the 5th Asia Europe Meeting (ASEM 5) in Hanoi, Vietnam, Friday, 8 October 2004. German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said Friday he plans to stick with his plans to travel to Afghanistan, despite a rocket explosion just a few metres from the German embassy in Kabul just hours ago. Schroeder had planned to stop in Kabul on Monday for several hours to speak with President Hamid Karzai, German soldiers and resconstruction workers. There were no injuries in the Kabul explosion which occurred the day before the first free presidential elections are to be held in Afghanistan.
