Bonalu is an annual Hindu festival to worship Goddess Mahakali in Hyderabad, Secunderabad and other parts of Telangana, India.Bonalu is celebrated in the month of Ashada Masam, in July/August.Special poojas are performed for Yellamma on the first and last day of the festival.The festival is a thanksgiving event to the Goddess for fulfillment of vows. The festival starts at Golconda Fort and also ends after celebrations in other temples outside the fort for 4 weeks.The poor people seek help from the devotees visiting the temple.
