LIVERPOOL ANGLICAN CATHEDRAL The Liverpool Anglican Cathedral is situated in Hope St, Liverpool and was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. It covers 9.688 square metres (104.275 sq. ft), and is 189m in length (619ft). The foundation stone was laid in 1904, and a service of Thanksgiving for its completion was attended by H.M. Queen Elizabeth II in 1978. The tower is 101m high (331ft) and holds the highest and heaviest peal in the world (31 tonnes). The Cathedral is the largest in Europe and the fifth largest in the world.
