Los Angeles, USA. 13th July, 2013. Fire damage to Los Angeles River the day after a tanker truck overturned on the nearby Interstate 5 near Elysian Valley spilling some of its 8500 gallons of gasoline which ran down a storm drain to the river. The overpowering smell of gas forced authorites to block off access to the river for the several hundred feet around the damage, several agencies includinf LADF and the EPA will be monitoring the situaion. The area was just recently opened for recreational use, including kayaking andf fishing, for the first time in 80 years.
