Chesterman Beach, Pacific Rim National Reserve, Tofino, British Columbia, CanadaMore information:
The Pacific Rim National Reserve occupies much of the Pacific Coast line of Vancouver Island between Tofino to the north and Ucuelet to the south. It has long sandy beaches with huge driftwood logs, wonderful biodiversity in the intertidal zone, examples of the North Temperate rain forest with large old Douglas Pine and Western Red Cedar trees, and some shore pine Northwest bog ecosystems. Green anenomes (Anthopleura xanthogrammica), sea stars (Pisaster ochraceus) and goose barnacles ((Pedunculata), mussels, eel grass and kelp are common species here.
