The view at the entrance of the 'Pan de Azucar' National Park. Located on the coast close to Chanaral and Copiapò and divided between the Antofagasta and the Atacama region. The park take its name because of a small 'sugar loaf' shape island, located 24 km farther from the land and reachable by boat. Fishermans offers cheap tour to the island with their smalls boat to see the Humboldt penguins, dolfins, pelicans, sea lions, jellyfish and sometimes whales. The national park is protected by CONAF and it is mostly important for the relative diversity of species (some of them are endemic).
