Place des Nations Unies, the heart of modern Casablanca, where all the thoroughfares converge. A wasteland in the early 1900s, it is now a busy conglomeration of offices, banks, restaurants, hotels and shops. Situated just off the square is the entrance to the medina. The square can be seen as a trait d'union between the old and the new city. The modern dome in the foreground was designed by architect Zevaco. On the right, the Tour de l'Horologe (clock tower)
