James Lick Observatory founded in 1888 is located on Mt Hamilton east of San Jose, California. Observatory houses several telescopes and other astronomical instruments. Lick observatory has made major contributions to astronomy over the years and continues to be a prominent research institution. Pictured here is an evening view of the Shane 120 inch reflector dome.
