More information:

The Black Cuillin of Skye provide some of the most spectacular scenery in all the UK, heaped with praise from citizens of countries with much higher peaks of their own. Elgol is just a little south of this on the coast and provides a marvellous ride by car or bus from Broadford, passing the two-peaked Blaven, separated from the main Cuillin Ridge, on the way. It is the nearest village to what is perhaps the UK's most spectacular loch, Coruisk and, in suitable weather there are boat trips there from Elgol all the summer. There's also a splendid walk in the same direction to a delectable beach at Camasunary. Thus far the walk is easy but it's inadvisable to go on to Coruisk unless you lack any trace of vertigo as there is a well kmown 'bad step' with awesome views of the water steeply below.
