The Mad Tea Party, from 'The Nursery “Alice"', an shortened adaptation of ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ aimed at under-fives written by Lewis Carroll (1832-1898) himself. This edition contains 20 selected illustrations by Sir John Tenniel (1820-1914) from the original book which were enlarged and coloured by Emily Gertrude Thomson (1850-1929).

Originally, Emily Gertrude Thomson (1850–1929) a close friend Lewis Carrol who had illustrated one of his favourite books 'The Fairies – A Child’s Song' by William Allingham was commissioned to supply new artwork for this edition.
