The Market Cross in chichester was given to the city of Chichester in West Sussex, England in 1501 by Edward Story the Bishop of Chichester. The monument stands on the intersection of four streets in the centre of the city. It was built so poor people could have some well to meet and also sell their goods from. These days it is still a very popular place for visitors to the city to meet up during a shopping trip or evening out.
