To fans of Carroll Shelby and his high-performance creations, Las Vegas, Nevada, is a destination that offers far more excitement than just cards, dice, chips and slot machines. While the desert tourist Mecca has long been home to Shelby American and the Carroll Shelby Museum, both entities have recently moved to a new expanded home in the Shelby Heritage Center, located adjacent to Interstate 15 and just a few blocks from Las Vegas Boulevard. As Shelby American’s Rich Sparkman explains, the new location’s Heritage Center name seemed more fitting with the May 2012 passing of company founder

As Shelby American’s Rich Sparkman explains, the new location’s Heritage Center name seemed more fitting with the May 2012 passing of company founder Carroll Shelby. In addition to providing more space (10, 000 square feet as opposed to 6, 000 square feet in the previous location), the new address at 6405 Ensworth Street is roughly a $10 cab ride from the strip, whereas the former Carroll Shelby Museum and Shelby American headquarters, near Las Vegas Motor Speedway, was a $65 cab ride from downtown. To further increase the number of visitors, the Shelby Heritage Center will begin running free shuttle buses, bringing visitors to and from locations on Las Vegas Boulevard.
