From an original Engraving from the Illustrated London News December 1848 The publication of this image spread the popularity of Christmas Trees like wildfire, and led wrongly to the belief that Albert had introduced the Christmas Tree to Britain. It was in fact Queen Charlotte, the German born wife of George III, for a party she held in 1800.
