The tall building is the Vigo City Council (Concello) building, the village of Cangas is in the background. The anchors and cannons in the park in the foreground are a monument to the Battle of Vigo Bay / Battle of Rande / Batalla de Rande which was fought on 23 October 1702 during the War of the Spanish Succession. A combined English and Dutch fleet attacked and defeated a Spanish and French fleet, sinking all their ships in the process.
