Plaque within a rock commemorating the birthplace of Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, that is located across the street from its location in the small Illinois community of Tampico. Reagan was born in Tampico on Feb. 6, 1911 in an apartment that, at the time, located above a bakery. The main street in town has numerous sites and attractions dedicated to the former actor and president. Reagan was born in Tampico and then moved with his family to nearby Dixon, Illinois as a young boy. While president, Reagan returned to visit his birthplace town along with wife Nancy and a secret service detachment.
