Fallen knights after battl, if they were not of any high standing (and if their side was victorious) were either buried or burnt. The Knights Templar (or the Poor Knights of Christ & the Temple of Solomon) were a Christian Order of Knights established in the early 12th Century with the role of protecting pilgrims to the Holy Land. They followed monastic rule of the Cistercian Order.
