The gathering clouds, throwing shadows over a river valley, surrounded by the jagged peaks of the Drakensberg mountains of South Africa. The iconic cliffs and peaks of the Drakensberg Mountains formed during the Jurassic period as a large flood basalt due to the break-up of the Gondwana Supercontinent. The Drakensberg Park were declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2000 to protect the natural habitats, but also due to its cultural significant since it has the largest concentration of rock paintings in Sub Sahara Africa.
